Obtaining justice on behalf of victims and the Texarkana community is very satisfying for Jonathan Hornok. As the Assistant United States Attorney, he is responsible for working with law enforcement to investigate and prosecute federal crimes in or affecting Bowie, Franklin, Red River and Titus counties in Texas.

Building a God-honoring family in Texarkana with his wife, Mariah (who practices law with Haltom and Doan), is a huge blessing to Jonathan. He explains, “The Lord has blessed us with three children – Alexandra, Miriam and John – who bring us tremendous joy. Parenting the children of two strong- minded attorneys provides a constant reminder to Mariah and me that we are still God’s work in progress.”

“DO HARD THINGS.” – GEORGE GOODE, JONATHAN’S GRANDFATHER

Serving as the local federal prosecutor in his hometown is Jonathan’s greatest professional accomplishment. “It is an honor and pleasure of a lifetime to stand alongside the phenomenal men and women of the law enforcement community to serve and protect the people of Bowie, Franklin, Red River and Titus counties here in the Eastern District of Texas.”

Since giving back to Texarkana is near and dear to Jonathan’s heart, he leads the AWANA Cubbies program at Fellowship Bible Church, where he and Mariah work to implant God’s Word into the hearts and minds of the energetic and excited 3-5 year olds entrusted to their care. “We have a blast each week during the school year playing games, visiting with ‘Cubbie’ the puppet bear, and memorizing scripture together.”

Name something about you that very few people know:

“One of the greatest thrills of my job is getting to stand up in court and say that I represent the United States of America.”
