THE PROPOSAL

“Ben planned everything so perfectly, and I was surprised all weekend long,” Taylor recalled. “He booked a photographer to meet us at this beautiful lookout spot on Lake Tahoe, California. We walked out to the edge of this cliff with the sun setting behind us, and he popped the question. After the proposal and pictures, we drove to one of our favorite restaurants near Lake Tahoe for dinner. My parents, my sister, and Ben’s parents walked out once we got to our table. I was in utter shock and just so excited for them to be there to celebrate with us. The surprises kept coming: Ben also booked a huge cabin on Lake Tahoe for both of our families and our friends to stay in for the entire weekend together. He also rented a boat on Lake Tahoe for all of us to celebrate on the next day.”


THE DETAILS

First dance: “The Vow” by RuthAnne

“We had a couple of family members speak during our ceremony, which was very special to us”, Taylor shared. “My cousin Matthew Day read scriptures from the Bible, and Ben’s great-aunt Sister Rosina gave a beautiful blessing.”

“The main color we used at our wedding was pink because it is my great-grandmother’s favorite color. She will soon be 100 years old, and I am so grateful she was at our wedding,” Taylor said. “My flower bouquet was wrapped with my late great-grandfather’s handkerchief, which my great-grandmother still sleeps with every night.”

“The knife that we used to cut our wedding cake was used at Ben’s grandparents’ wedding, Ben’s parents’ wedding, and Ben’s brother’s wedding,” Taylor said. “All of our names and wedding dates are engraved on the knife.”

“The lace design on my wedding cake is the exact replica of the lace on my veil,” Taylor said. “The groom’s cake had impressive artwork that was customized to show Ben’s favorite hobbies, plus the Oklahoma State University logo, which is where Ben and I met. Go Pokes!”
